Meux Creek Bridge Replacement

This project included a Schedule B MCEA for the replacement of the 16.9m span Meux Creek Bridge. The existing bridge was a 1930s riveted plate through-girder bridge, which had very little clearance between the soffit and road elevations due to the structural configuration. The recommended solution included a shallow profile bridge design to match the existing hydraulics of the watercourse. GMBP was subsequently retained to complete the superstructure design that included custom steel plate girders, as well as contract administration and construction inspection for the replacement structure. Semi-integral abutments were utilized to eliminate expansion joints and reduce maintenance costs to the Municipality. The project was constructed in 2016.
